Movie Maniac added 1 item to Terror Blurbs! Part II (An Ever-Expanding List) list

Plot: A mystery novelist sets out to enact justice and reassert herself after she is violently ravaged...with the help of her very active imagination. A surprisingly good adaptation of King's rape-revenge novella. The subject matter might sour the viewing experience for some but so might the approach movie takes to the protagonist hammering out the details of what happened to her. I find that said approach is what sets this one apart from similar fare, however. Armed with a strong lead, a director with a good eye, and a firm grip on handling touchy material, the film is only thwarted by some inevitable tv-movie trappings (like commercial break editing) and a somewhat inconsistent soundtrack.
