Plot: A newlywed woman is beset by the entity in the titular doll. Convinced it is after her baby, she is driven to the edge of madness by the demon's manipulations.
Though not as strong as the core Conjuring films or, for that matter, the other two films in its own series, Annabelle still has plenty to offer for those craving more of the franchise. It might lack the more vivid direction, inspired scares, and taut pacing but it still fits nicely into the mythology and is far from a lifeless endeavor like The Nun. What helps it along the most are its creative parallels to real world events like the Manson murders and a copious amount of homages to Roman Polanski's Rosemary's Baby. Not necessarily essential for anyone not involved in the full breadth of the franchise.

Movie Maniac added 1 item to Terror Blurbs! Part II (An Ever-Expanding List) list
Plot: A beautiful vampire falls head over heels for a doofus patchwork creature, much to the chagrin of her age-old, vampire count father. Antics ensue...naturally.
A prequel to the famous show of the same name that, despite having Rob Zombie at the helm, is pretty family friendly. Alas, it is also a somewhat overlong, meandering, and VERY loosely plotted affair that vacillates from moments, performances, and visuals that belong in Munsterdom and others that feel neither here nor there. It's cornball, it's cheap, and it probably won't please old fans or make new ones. I hate to say it but Rob Zombie's usual film personality would of probably made it stand out more. If you do watch it, tune the color out of it and the scenes will feel more natural.
