Plot: A trio of mercenaries on the run hide out in a commune that is bound not only to one of their pasts but to something unspeakable. An excellent slow burn character piece that leans into African culture for its horror and is all the better for it. Fantastic locations, a great cast, and stellar music only make it shine even more. Saloum is a movie about revenge, destiny, belief, etc, and it handles all deftly while cooking up suspense until the moment things take a turn into the uncanny. Great, underrated material.
