Plot: A group of broadcasters reviews footage from a documentary crew lost in the Amazon, the results are a slew of inhuman deeds where the lines of civilization are blurred. This film is an exploitative Italian cash grab on the Italian mondo/cannibal craze that inadvertently broke boundaries by being a premiere example of found footage horror, extreme cinema, and unprecedented realism with its "film within a film" structure. Both an intentional takedown of the media and an open criticism of the violation of nature and culture by the supposedly civilized world, the movie ironically mirrors the behind the scenes extremes the crew was pushed to to make it. As fascinating to watch as it is to read about.
